In 2015, we entered into an agreement with HCA (Hospital Corporation of America) to become a preferred partner for their critical healthcare facilities. We are currently one of three electrical contractors participating in the program to help manage the electrical infrastructure of nearly 300 facilities located in the state of Florida. Now, we are working with HCA in the historic city of Savannah, Georgia. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Memorial Health Hospital in Savannah, is undergoing a renovation project which involves the overhaul of both the West and East NICU sections, aiming to create a state-of-the-art environment for the most vulnerable infants in the hospital’s care. This two-component endeavor underscores our commitment to healthcare excellence.Â
West NICU Renovation: A Comprehensive Transformation
The 10-bed West NICU is undergoing a complete demolition and remodel. Our team is furnishing the space with new light fixtures and wiring devices, establishing a new electrical room fitted with panels and transformers, and overseeing the subcontracting of fire alarm installations. Additionally, we’re extending our efforts to the existing 5th-floor mechanical room, where new panels and a transformer will be set to support a new air handler essential for the NICU’s operations. East NICU Renovation: Modernizing with Precision
The 39-bed East NICU is receiving a strategic light remodel. This includes the installation of new LED multifunction lights and the replacement of all existing wiring devices with modern alternatives. To ensure the long-term efficacy of these updates, we are meticulously reviewing and updating all panel schedules for precise circuit identification, which will significantly aid the hospital’s maintenance staff.
Project Significance: A Landmark Achievement
This initiative is emblematic of several firsts for our team in the area. It marks our first project with HCA in Savannah and it is also our first healthcare project valued at over $1 million in the region. Partnering with Batten & Shaw Construction, a trusted HCA trade partner, has been instrumental in our on-site efforts, supervised from our Savannah office. Furthermore, securing this project has opened avenues for future collaborations with various contractors in the area.
